The campground has two loops with different reservation systems. Loop A sites require advance reservation through Recreation.gov up to six months ahead. Loop B operates first-come, first-serve year-round. Loop A closes seasonally during summer and winter months when use is low. Loop B stays open all year. Loop A suits larger RVs and trailers better. Loop B has smaller sites with juniper and cottonwood shade. Maneuvering space is tight for big rigs in Loop B.

Ken's Lake is a man-made reservoir built in 1981 as part of the Mill Creek Project irrigation system. Electric motors only are allowed on the water. Gas-powered engines are prohibited. The recreation area includes a boat ramp, hiking and equestrian trails, and day-use facilities.

Each campsite has a gravel parking pad that fits two vehicles, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Vault toilets and trash service are nearby. There is no potable water at campsites. This is a dry camp situation. Come prepared with your own water supply.

The area draws hikers, horseback riders, fishers, and non-motorized boaters. The Steel Bender Jeep Safari Route runs along the south end of the campground, so OHV traffic passes through regularly. Over three miles of trails in the lake vicinity offer views of the valley, waterfalls, and mountains.

Expect freezing nights from October through March. Summer highs from June to August reach 95 to above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Verify current rules and reservation availability with the BLM Moab Field Office before arrival. Conditions and access change. Data verified May 2026.
