You reserve all sites through Recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Some sites open six months ahead. Others release two weeks or one week before your dates. Your campground reservation includes timed entry to the park starting at 1 p.m. on your first day. Check-in is at 1 p.m. RVs and trailers longer than 30 feet cannot stay here.

The NPS requires a reservation to camp at Timber Creek. There are no first-come, first-served sites. Trail Ridge Road is seasonal and closes during winter storms. If the road closes, you must use alternate routes around the park. Call 970-586-1222 before you drive in to check road status.

If you plan to visit Bear Lake Road, you need a separate timed entry reservation for that corridor. Your campground reservation alone does not cover it. Bring a printed copy of your reservation to show at the entrance station upon arrival.

Trail Ridge Road closures happen fast in Colorado. Call the park's road status line at 970-586-1222 before you go.
